sew fun!!
Couldn't help the pun there. What follows is documentation of actual free time. I needed to post it to remind myself that such a thing exists.

the only apron i have is actually tony's: it has a crazy guy on the front wearing a sombrero with crazy eyes and a big ol moustache. it says "soy mandilon, pero cabron! Mazatlan mexico."

Okay, I L-O-V-E that apron. Will you divulge where you found the pattern? Or are you *that* kind of seamstress (I mean the kind that looks at a picture and can duplicate what she sees with a sewing machine)? Free time is just about as foreign to me as it seems to be to you, so I don't know if I'd even be able to make it anyway. Just beautiful!
Nice job! I am about due for a new apron. I was glad when my sister sent me one a few years ago, because I keep ruining my clothes - ha! Did you use a pattern?
You can also take two kitchen towels, sew them perpendicular, and if you overlap them a little, you can sew pockets into them. Add ribbon for the ties around neck and waist. Hard to explain without pictures.
Wow, thanks for all the apron love. I actually just made a pattern from an apron I already have. It's so much easier than you might think, especially if you use bias tape for the ties. I'm not at home now, but when I am, I'll post a bit more about how I made it.
